Séminaire Numapresse: Le reportage (12 mars 2018, Université Paris Nanterre)

La deuxième séance de séminaire du projet ANR Numapresse, consacrée au genre du Reportage, aura lieu lundi 12 mars, de 15h30 à 17h30, à l’Université Paris Nanterre (Bâtiment L, salle L419). Nous aurons le plaisir d’accueillir Mélodie Simard-Houde, auteure d’un ouvrage récent intitulé Le reporter et ses fictions – Poétique historique d’un imaginaire (PULIM, 2017). Elle analysera la question du reportage à partir d’un corpus consacré à la guerre d’Abyssinie de 1935-1936, avec pour répondant Denis Ruellan CELSA, GRIPIC). Pierre-Carl Langlais présentera ses travaux sur la reconnaissance automatisée de genres à partir de l’exemple du grand reportage.

Mélodie Simard-Houde (docteure de l’Université Laval et de l’Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3): « Repérage et définition générique du reportage d’actualité dans les années 1930 ».

Cette contribution visera à réfléchir aux critères matériels, éditoriaux, poétiques et historiques qui, par leur croisement, peuvent nous permettre d’identifier des articles appartenant au genre journalistique du reportage dans la presse d’information des années trente, en s’appuyant sur le traitement de la guerre d’Abyssinie.

Pierre-Carl Langlais (Université Paul Valéry – Montpellier 3, RIRRA21 / CELSA, GRIPIC): « Reconnaissance automatisée de genres journalistiques dans les archives de journaux numérisés à partir de modèles supervisés: l’exemple du grand reportage »

Cette présentation introduit des travaux expérimentaux menés pour le troisième axe de Numapresse : réécrire l’histoire culturelle de la presse au XXe siècle en employant notamment des modèles de classifications des textes journalistiques appliqués à l’ensemble des archives numérisées des grands quotidiens. Une des premières étapes de ce projet consiste à développer un prototype de modèle adapté à la presse de l’entre-deux-guerre et à l’entraîner sur un corpus-test.


La probabilité d’affiliation à un « genre journalistique » est déduite du vocabulaire utilisé dans le texte et des automatismes d’écriture. Ces modèles permettent non seulement de constituer des sous-corpus mais contribuent aussi à repenser l’évolution des formes culturelles dans la presse.
